Community Life
UCC Community Garden
|
Join us on the second Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. for work, fellowship and wonderful growth in the UCC Community Garden!
We will gather each month during the growing season and invite all who are interested to be a part of the Garden.
|
Do you have perennial plants you would like to transplant from your yard to the UCC Community Garden? The bed on the west side of the Community Garden, just outside the fence, is our Pot Luck Garden. Either plant your perennials in that bed, or leave them inside the fence, labeled as to what they are and how they should be planted, and we'll see what colorful blessings bloom this spring in our Pot Luck Garden!

In the Beginning...
| Something wonderful is taking root in the empty lot next to the church. Have you walked through the UCC Community Garden? The raised beds hold the beginning growth of tomatoes and squash, beans and basil, and a variety of other vegetables and herbs. One of the UCC Weekday School children noticed we are growing "pickles!" |
 |
 |
Butterfly bushes and blooms that attract birds and insects are slated for the next phase of the community garden. And all of this is happening because of the community effort of church members of all ages. The garden workday got it all started on March 17, 2006. |
| Contributions of time, supplies, and expertise come together as we touch the earth and share our lives in this amazing growing space. And at harvest time we will share home grown vegetables with those in our community who need a little help. If you would like to become involved in its regular upkeep, contact John Andrus or Cyndy Twedell. |

Prayer Shawl
Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m.
Room 206
|
Anyone who would like to be a part of UCC's Prayer Shawl Ministry is welcome to join us on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. or Sundays at 4 p.m.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits together love and prayers so that shawls can be given to those who need to be wrapped in God's loving embrace. Come be a part of this ministry of prayer and healing at UCC!
|
Since beginning this meaningful ministry, over 1200 prayer shawls have been knit, prayed over and given in gratitude, to those undertaking a new journey in life, and those facing surgery, treatment or loss.
Contact Cyndy Twedell if you have questions about participating. No previous knitting experience is required. Experienced knitters are available to teach the basic knitting skills.

“Shawls…made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles…” Janet Bristow
